Official: One-cap Nigeria international and Mjallby AIF go their separate ways
Published: June 23, 2023
Swedish Allsvenskan club Mjällby AIF have announced through their official website that they have parted company with one-cap Nigeria international Isaiah Ejeh.
Ejeh arrived at Mjällby AIF in the winter transfer market on loan from Nigeria Premier Football League outfit Kwara United.
The central defender came with credentials from both the Nigerian topflight as well as playing in the Nigerian U20 national team and has also represented the Super Eagles in a friendly against Costa Rica in November 2022.
Ejeh departs Mjällby without making a single appearance in the Allsvenskan, although he was named in the matchday squad on seven occasions.
The 20-year-old logged only four minutes for the Hällevik based club and it came in a Svenska Cupen clash against Sirius in March.
Commenting on the departure of Ejeh, sports manager Hasse Larsson stated: "Isaiah has been in the association for six months and acted incredibly professionally and showed a rising development curve.
"In the end, we assess a whole where we feel that the best thing for all parties is for Isaiah to find another club to continue his football career in."
Nigerian attacker Yusuf Abdulazeez remains on the books of Mjällby and has made one appearance in the topflight so far this season.
