Confirmed: Talented central midfielder signs new deal with Chelsea
Published: July 01, 2023Through a statement on their official website, Premier League side Chelsea announced on Saturday, July 1 that talented central midfielder Michael Golding has signed a new deal with the club.
The 2006-born player has been rewarded with a new deal after shining for club and country last season.
Golding, who has captained England at U17 level, has signed his first professional contract at Chelsea.
Last season, the 17-year-old represented the Blues in the U18 Premier League, UEFA Youth League, Papa Johns Trophy and FA Youth Cup.
He was named in the gameday squad against Leicester City in the Premier League 2 but was an unused substitute.
Golding joined Chelsea from AFC Wimbledon at the end of his U12 season and has been described as a player that possesses good leadership skills.
He helped the England U16 squad to win the Val de Marne tournament and also has caps for the Young Lions at U15 level and Republic of Ireland U16s.
