Official: Younger brother of 2017 Super Eagles invitee joins Crystal Palace
Published: July 04, 2023With a statement on their official website, Crystal Palace have confirmed that Chimaechi Eze, who is the younger brother of 2017 Super Eagles invitee Eberechi Eze, has signed a professional contract with the club.
The younger Eze has joined the Eagles on a one-year deal following a successful trial.
Chimaechi Eze has been without a club since leaving Queens Park Rangers in June 2021 after the expiration of his contract.
In his final season at the Hoops, he featured in the U18 Professional Development League and FA Youth Cup.
After being without a club for two years, the Nigeria-eligible attacker now has 12 months to convince the Crystal Palace hierarchy that he deserves a longer stay at the club.
He will be joining David Ozoh, Ademola Ola-Adebomi, Owen Goodman, Victor Akinwale, Franco Umeh and Tayo Adaramola, who are all eligible to play for Nigeria, in the Eagles development squad.
Known for his pace, Chimaechi is yet to feature for any of the English youth sides unlike his elder brother Eberechi who represented the Young Lions before becoming cap-tied to England last month.
