SC Dnipro-1 join Omonia Nicosia in race for FC Copenhagen winger Amoo
Published: July 19, 2023Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Ukrainian club SC Dnipro-1 hold concrete interest in signing FC Copenhagen winger Akinkunmi Amoo, but face competition for the winger's services in the form of Cypriot giants Omonia Nicosia.
The sporting director of SC Dnipro-1 has opened a line of communication with Copenhagen over the transfer of the former Golden Eaglets dazzler.
SC Dnipro-1 are discussing a loan deal with an option to buy but the Danish champions want to sell him outright given that he is surplus to the requirements of manager Jacob Neestrup for the forthcoming season.
Both clubs are still thrashing out terms and hope to find an agreement at the end of talks, with Amoo keen on joining the Ukrainian Premier League club.
A week ago, the former Hammarby man trained with Omonia Nicosia in Poland, where he spent days with the team and also met with Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.
With two clubs interested in Amoo, FC Copenhagen are aiming to reach an outcome which favours them the most in terms of the transfer or loan fee.
The Sidos Academy product arrived at FC Copengahen with a lot of hype on the back of his exploits in Sweden but has not lived up to the expectations of a player bought for approximately four million euros due to injuries and off-the-field issues.
Russian Premier League club Krasnodar tested the waters regarding a move for Amoo this summer but the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup star does not want to move to Russia for reasons everyone is aware of.
