Borussia Mönchengladbach eye move for Torunarigha as possible replacement for Wolves target
Published: July 20, 2023Borussia Mönchengladbach are eyeing a move for KAA Gent German-born Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha as a replacement for Nico Elvedi, who is heavily linked with a transfer to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
This was disclosed by Sky Deutschland's transfer market expert, Florian Plettenberg on his Twitter page on Thursday afternoon.
Plettenberg also added that talks have taken place regarding the transfer of the centre-back and also revealed his transfer value to be around four million euros.
Torunarigha joined Gent last summer on a three-year deal having spent the second half of the 2021/2022 season with the club on a loan deal.
The 25-year-old played a vital role as the Buffalos secured their place in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers with the club finishing first in the Belgian League Europa Conference League playoffs last season.
He featured in 45 game for the Belgian outfit in the last campaign and bagged three goals which is an impressive figure for a centre-back.
The Chemnitz native played for several German youth sides but switched his International allegiance to Nigeria last month having failed to make an appearance for the German senior national team.
