Montpellier submit N3b bid for Watford target Akor Adams
Published: July 29, 2023
Lillestrøm have received a bid from French side Montpellier for high-flying Nigerian forward Akor Adams.
The 23-year-old's superb form has attracted the interest of clubs across Europe including England with reported interest from Watford.
Adam's agent has close links with Watford, having brokered the deal that took Odion Ighalo to Vicarage Road in 2014.
As reported by Nettavisen, Montpellier have submitted a NOK 40 million (approximately N3b in Nigerian currency) bid for the signature of the Nigerian forward.
The Ligue 1 side could lose both Stephy Mavididi and Elye Wahi this summer and have identified the red-hot forward as a possible replacement.
The former Flying Eagles star is the top scorer in the Eliteserien, the Norwegian first division having scored 15 goals in 15 games, one more than his closest challenger.
He moved to Norway in 2018 when he joined Sogndal and registered 23 goal contributions in 56 appearances.
The Nigeria-born forward joined Lillestrøm in 2021 and has played 50 games across all competitions since joining the Norwegian side and has posted 28 goals and seven assists.
Adams was part of the Flying Eagles team that played at the 2019 FIFA World Cup.
