AC Milan's latest signing Chukwueze to miss glamour friendly against Barcelona
Published: August 01, 2023
Samuel Chukuwueze is set to miss AC Milan's glamour pre-season friendly against Barcelona on Wednesday in the 2023 Soccer Champions Tour, which is a pre-season tournament holding in the United States.
Chukwueze became AC Milan's latest signing on Thursday, July 27 when he ended his six-year association with Villarreal.
Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that the Super Eagles star is not with his new teammates in the United States where they are set to take on the Spanish giants tomorrow morning.
The report added that the right winger is currently in the Rossoneri Sports Centre with the club technical coach Davide Lucarelli who is trying to get him to full fitness.
After the friendly against Barcelona, the Rossoneri's will take on Monza in another pre-season game at the U-Power Stadium on August 8, ahead of their first competitive game of the season against Bologna.
Stefano Pioli's side are yet to win any of their games so far in the 2023 Soccer Champions Tour having lost their first two games to Real Madrid and Juventus.
The Italian tactician will be hoping that counts for nothing when the season starts and will be counting on the services of Chukwueze and his teammates to challenge for the Scudetto.
