EFL wrap: Dele-Bashiru scores 33rd second goal; Adeboyejo, Adedoyin, Adebisi on target 

Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of the players of Nigerian descent on target for their respective clubs in English Football League matches on Saturday, August 5.

In the Championship, former Nigeria U23 international Tom Dele-Bashiru has the honour of being Watford's first goalscorer in the 2023-2024 season after opening the scoring for the Hornets in their 4-0 rout of Queens Park Rangers. 


The Manchester City academy product broke the deadlock as early as the 33rd second when he slotted past Asmir Begović after he was fed by Imrân Louza, 


A division lower, Nigerian-born striker Victor Adeboyejo's 59th minute strike helped Bolton Wanderers to a 3-0 rout of Lincoln City at the University of Bolton Stadium. 


Adeboyejo planted a firm header past the Lincoln City goalkeeper to double the advantage. 


In the League Two, Accrington Stanley thrashed Newport County 3-0 at the Wham Stadium (Accrington, Lancashire).


2019 Flying Eagles invitee Korede Adedoyin wrapped up the scoring in the third minute of stoppage time when he got on the end of a cross and slotted home. 


Still in the division, Crewe Alexandra and Mansfield Town shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at Gresty Road.


Talented fullback Rio Adebisi salvaged a point for the Railwaymen when he powered home a header past the goalkeeper.
