EFL wrap: Dele-Bashiru scores 33rd second goal; Adeboyejo, Adedoyin, Adebisi on target

In the Championship, former Nigeria U23 international Tom Dele-Bashiru has the honour of being Watford's first goalscorer in the 2023-2024 season after opening the scoring for the Hornets in their 4-0 rout of Queens Park Rangers.

A division lower, Nigerian-born striker Victor Adeboyejo's 59th minute strike helped Bolton Wanderers to a 3-0 rout of Lincoln City at the University of Bolton Stadium. 

 

Adeboyejo planted a firm header past the Lincoln City goalkeeper to double the advantage. 

 

In the League Two, Accrington Stanley thrashed Newport County 3-0 at the Wham Stadium (Accrington, Lancashire).

 

2019 Flying Eagles invitee Korede Adedoyin wrapped up the scoring in the third minute of stoppage time when he got on the end of a cross and slotted home. 

 

Still in the division, Crewe Alexandra and Mansfield Town shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at Gresty Road.

 

Talented fullback Rio Adebisi salvaged a point for the Railwaymen when he powered home a header past the goalkeeper.
