Nottingham Forest and Liverpool-linked midfielder Ndidi scores and assists for Leicester City
Published: August 29, 2023
Nottingham Forest and Liverpool-linked defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi scored and assisted for Leicester City in their 2-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers in the second round of the EFL Cup played at Prenton Park on Tuesday evening.
Ndidi broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when he struck the ball into the net and four minutes later, the Nigeria International assisted Jamie Vardy with a precise pass for the Foxes' second of the night.
He has now taken his tally for the season to two goals and one assist, with all his goal contributions being registered in the EFL Cup.
The 26-year-old's future with the one-time Premier League champions is uncertain as he is being linked with a move away from the club before the close of the summer transfer window.
Nottingham Forest seem to be in pole position for his signature and he is said to have agreed personal terms with Steve Cooper's side.
It has also been reported that Liverpool are considering him as an alternative target to Crystal Palace's midfielder Cheick Doucoure.
