Published: September 04, 2023
Through official channels, Austrian 2. Liga club DSV Leoben GGMT Revolution have announced the signing of Nigeria international midfielder Kingsley Michael from Italian Serie A outfit Bologna.
DSV Leoben have not disclosed the length and financial terms of the contract, but added that the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup winner with the Golden Eaglets joined his new teammates this past weekend.
The transfer was completed before the close of the summer transfer window in Europe on September 1.
Michael has departed Bologna with five appearances in six years, the last of which came against Udinese in October 2021.
As a Rossoblù player, he took in loan spells at four different clubs, namely Perugia, Cremonese, Reggina and SV Reid.
Since turning professional, the Football College Abuja product has played in 57 matches for the clubs he has represented, scoring a goal and registering three assists.
He represented Nigeria in the U17 and U20 World Cups, and made his senior debut in a 2022 World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde in September 2021.
After six matches in the Austrian 2. Liga, DSV Leoben are sixth in the standings with nine points accumulated.
