Playing beyond his years: Watch Nwaneri lobbing GK to open the scoring for Arsenal U21s v Reading
Published: September 05, 2023
Ethan Nwaneri has been in his imperious form this season with the Arsenal U21s.
The talented midfielder has only failed to score or assist in one game this season for the Gunners' development side.
Nwaneri's latest heroic came against Reading on matchday four of the Premier League 2 on Sunday.
The Anglo-Nigerian midfielder gave Arsenal the lead in the encounter when he received a precise pass from Myles Lewis-Skelly after running into the penalty area before he lobbed the ball past the goalkeeper with a deft touch.
The goal took his tally to 4 for the season in Premier League 2 having previously netted a hat-trick against Leicester City.
The 16-year-old has four goals and two assists in five games for Arsenal's U21s this season.
In what is his first full season with the side, the Flying Eagles-eligible player is indeed playing beyond his years.
Having made his Premier League debut last season, the England youth international could make more first-team appearances in the current campaign if he maintains his incredible form.
