Super Eagles striker Osimhen nominated for Ballon d'Or alongside Saka, Salah, Onana, 26 others

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been named in the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d'Or.
The Napoli number 9 joins Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, Arsenal star Bukayo SakaManchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana and 26 other stars on the shortlist.
The favorites to win the award include Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Vinicius Junior, Kevin De Bruyne, Kylian Mbappe and Rodri.
Osimhen's nomination comes as no surprise as he played a vital role in Napoli ending their 33-year wait for the Scudetto last season by recording 26 league goals.
He ended the season as the top scorer which earned him the Paolo Rossi Award in the process and also bagged the Serie A best striker.
He also broke the record for the most goals scored by an African in the Italian top flight and the most goals scored by an African player in Serie A history.
The Ballon d'Or nominees were decided by votes of football journalists and the winner for this year will be announced on October 30.
