La Liga club Valencia send message of support to exciting Tottenham defender Udogie after racist abuse
Published: October 02, 2023Spanish La Liga outfit Valencia have sent a message of support to Destiny Udogie following the racist abuse directed at him after Tottenham Hotspur controversially defeated Liverpool on Saturday on matchday seven of the Premier League.
The exciting full-back was the subject of one of the talking points of the controversial encounter as he was responsible for the sending off of Diogo Jota who got his marching orders for committing two bookable offences.
Jota was adjudged to have fouled Udogie in the 68th minute but replays showed that there was minimal contact between them before the Liverpool forward committed another foul on him a minute later and got red carded.
The 20-year-old would go on to celebrate his side's victory over the Anfield outfit on social media but was met with racial insults.
Tottenham have come out to condemn the appalling attack on their fullback on social media and are determined to work together with the Premier League to find the culprit.
In reaction to the North London side's condemnation of the attack on Udogie on their official X account, Valencia have also shown their support for the young Italian-Nigerian left-back
"This is completely unacceptable. Racism has no place in sports or society," Valencia wrote on X.
"We are with you, Destiny Udogie".
