'On Ola we will see' - Nottingham Forest boss keeping fingers crossed over availability of Super Eagles defender
Published: October 06, 2023
Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is keeping his fingers crossed over the availability of Ola Aina for the Reds' trip to Crystal Palace - a game that corresponds to the eighth round of matches in the Premier League.
Aina is rated as doubtful for the trip to the English capital after suffering a muscle-related injury before the meeting with Brentford last weekend.
The right-back's injury is a cause for concern for Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro who has included him on the roster for the October internationals with Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Cooper was hoping for good news over the fitness of Aina but refused to disclose the severity of his injury.
"I don’t think we’ll see Nuno until after the international break, and on Ola we will see," Cooper was quoted as saying by the official website of Nottingham Forest.
Aina started Nottingham Forest's 2-0 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on September 23, taking his total appearances for the club to five in the Premier League.
The Chelsea Academy product was recognized for his outstanding performances in September with Forest supporters voting him as the club's Player of the Month.
