Who is the better player between Messi and Ronaldo? Victor Osimhen gives diplomatic answer
Published: October 26, 2023
Victor Osimhen has refused to comment on who he considers the better player between former Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
With 12 Ballon d'Or between them, Messi and Ronaldo are the best of their generation and two of the greatest players to have played the beautiful game.
With a rivalry spanning more than a decade, fans, footballers and pundits have had to choose their favourite between these two great players and the argument on who the better player is will continue till after their retirement.
Unlike many, Osimhen has chosen to remain neutral by not choosing Ronaldo over Messi or vice versa but rather expressing his admiration for both.
In quotes published by Pazzidifanta, the Super Eagles forward said: "I'm a fan of both. I've been asked this question many times, it's complicated. What they did is incredible. I asked them both for a photo when I played against them."
The Napoli striker is in contention with Messi for the 2023 Ballon d'Or and the The Best FIFA Men's Player.
It is the first time Osimhen will be nominated for both prestigious awards.
