 Europa League: 2022-23 top scorer Boniface battles West Ham, Roma, Molde stars for Goal of the Week 

Victor Boniface has been nominated alongside West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá and two others for the UEFA Europa Goal of the Week for matchday 3.


The 22-year-old  got the third goal in Bayer Leverkusen's 5-1 mauling of Azerbaijan side Qarabağ FK on Thursday night.


The Nigerian star got his goal ten minutes before half-time with a thunderous effort from outside the penalty area which couldn't be stopped by Qarabağ shot stopper Andrey Lunyov.


The 22-year-old is in the running with Brazilian midfielder  Paquetá who scored with a powerful volley to give West Ham a lifeline in their defeat to Olympiacos. 


Edoardo Bove's long-range strike for Roma in the first minute of their 2-0 victory over Igoh Ogbu's Slava Prague and Magnus Eikrem's brilliant free-kick for Molde against Häcken complete the list.


Prior to Bayer Leverkusen's triumph over Qarabağ, Boniface received his top scorer award for most goals scored in the Europa League last season having notched 6 goals for his previous club,Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.


He has started this campaign where he left off last season as he has notched 2 goals in three games in the competition this term.
