Tottenham Hotspur in talks with talented Nigerian forward over new contract
Published: November 08, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are keen to tie talented Nigerian forward Damola Ajayi down to an important contract before the end of the season.
Ajayi will enter the last six months of his contract with the Lilywhites in January 2024 and has done enough to earn himself a new deal.
If negotiations are fruitful, the London-born winger will put pen to paper on his first professional contract at Tottenham Hotspur.
One of the outstanding players in the academy ranks, the second year scholar is highly thought of by those upstairs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He was promoted to first team training by manager Ange Postecoglou before Tottenham Hotspur's first team traveled to Australia and Asia for pre-season matches ahead of the 2023-2024 campaign.
Ajayi traveled with the first team as the '21st player' for their Premier League clash against Leeds United at Elland Road at the tail end of last season, and made his competitive debut for the U18s in his final season as a schoolboy.
The 17-year-old has notched four goals for the youth teams of Tottenham this season, including a dramatic injury-time winner against Chelsea in the U18 Premier League.
