Arsenal risk losing Golden Eaglets-eligible player amid interest from Tottenham, Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Aston Villa
Published: November 23, 2023Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Arsenal are seriously at risk of losing promising Golden Eaglets-eligible player Owen Asemota to their Premier League rivals.
The Gunners are keen to retain the services of Asemota for the 2024-2025 season but there is concrete interest from top Premier League clubs.
An England U16 international, Asemota has been offered a scholarship deal that would see him remain at the north London club until at least June 2026 but the goalkeeper has yet to accept the deal, throwing his future into doubt.
Four of the big six Premier League teams are interested in signing the teenager including Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
Aston Villa are the fifth Premier League club monitoring the situation of Asemota who is in his final season as a schoolboy.
He was a member of the England squad that won the prestigious Val-De-Marne Tournament in November, and also has caps for the Young Lions at U15 level.
Asemota was promoted to Arsenal first team training in January 2023 and received his first U18s call-up against Fulham that same month - a testament to how highly he is rated by the Gunners coaching staff.
Arsenal were under threat of losing another player of Nigerian descent, Ethan Nwaneri before the start of this season, but the attacking midfielder later signed scholarship forms.
