Official: Chelsea confirm two talented midfielders have signed new deals
Published: December 01, 2023
Through their official website, Chelsea have announced that two talented midfielders have signed new deals with the club.
Described as an intelligent and talented midfielder, Kiano Dyer has signed his first professional contract with Chelsea.
Dyer started the 2023-2024 season on a scholarship deal, which has been upgraded to a professional contract.
The 17-year-old started the first five matches played by Chelsea in the Premier League 2 this term before suffering an injury.
Dyer joined Chelsea from West Brom as an U14 and established himself as a regular player for the U18s in his final season as a schoolboy, making 18 appearances combined across league and cup for the age group and played in four matches in the UEFA Youth League, a competition for U19 teams.
Also signing his first professional contract at Chelsea is Portugal youth international Leo Cardoso.
He has been described as a highly technical player who has featured predominantly on the right wing or as an attacking midfielder for the academy sides.
Cardoso is currently sidelined by an injury and is working with Chelsea's medical team on his rehabilitation.
