Two teenagers of Nigerian descent promoted to Arsenal first team training pre-Wolves
Published: December 01, 2023
Two teenagers of Nigerian descent Ethan Nwaneri and Daniel Oyetunde trained with the Arsenal first team ahead of their Premier League encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
Nwaneri has returned to the English capital, London after international commitments with the Young Lions at the ongoing Fifa U17 World Cup in Indonesia, where he was involved in all the four matches contested by the 2017 champions before they were knocked out by Uzbekistan in the round of 16.
This is the second time Nwaneri will be training with the senior team this week as he did the same before the Champions League encounter with Lens on Wednesday and would go on to be named in the matchday squad but failed to feature in the game.
The talented midfielder made his Premier League debut last season against Brentford but it remains to be seen whether he will feature against Wolves with Arsenal looking to cement their spot at the top of the Premier League table.
Unlike Nwaneri, Oyetunde has not had much involvement with the main team since joining the club.
The centre-forward has scored just one goal across all competitions for Arsenal U18s and 19s respectively.
The Gunners are seeking to consolidate their lead on the Premier League table heading into the game with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
