Galatasaray target move for Ndidi as potential replacement for Tottenham-owned midfielder
Published: December 07, 2023
Galatasaray have named Wilfred Ndidi as the priority target to replace Tottenham loanee Tanguy Ndombele whose loan contract they plan to terminate in January.
According to Turkish daily newspaper Milliyet, the Süper Lig defending champions are unhappy with the performances of the Tottenham-owned midfielder and see Ndidi as the perfect replacement for him.
Galatasaray want the Leicester City midfielder to complement Lucas Toreira in the middle of the park as they seek to advance to the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League and retain their Süper Lig crown
The Yellow-Reds were also linked with the 26-year-old in the summer but nothing came out of it.
With the Nigeria midfielder running into the final months of his contract at the King Power Stadium, Galatasaray are hoping they can get him at a cut price when the transfer window opens next month.
Ndidi has been one of the players leading the Foxes' charge to regain promotion to the Premier League, starting 11 of the fifteen matches he has played in the Championship so far.
Besides his well-known reading of the game, the Nigeria international has also been able to contribute better in the offensive third this term.
He has registered 8 goal involvements across all competitions, the most he has in any campaign for the Foxes.
