'Back like I never left' - Fulham centre-back Tosin happy to make first PL start since May 2023
Published: December 08, 2023
Fulham central defender Tosin Adarabioyo is delighted to make his first start in the Premier League since the final day of the 2022-2023 season.
Before the visit of Nottingham Forest, the Manchester City academy product had not started a game in the English top-flight since he was named in the starting lineup against Manchester United on May 28.
Tosin was handed a starting berth for the visit of Nottingham Forest, partnering Super Eagles star Calvin Bassey in the heart of the Fulham defence.
In the current season, the 26-year-old has seen his game time limited to just three appearances from a possible eighteen in all competitions due to a groin issue that required surgery and also there had been speculation over his future at the Cottagers.
He was linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco in the summer transfer window but a proposed switch to the Principality club fell through on deadline day because Fulham did not have a replacement lined up.
On his return to the starting lineup, Tosin impressed, helping goalkeeper Bernd Leno to post his first clean sheet since September 23.
Writing on X , Tosin said: "Back like I never left".
Against Nottingham Forest. Tosin won a game-high four aerial duel, registered one tackle, one interception and two clearances, and was accurate in 87.1 percent of his passes.
