Talented striker Musa makes Premier League 2 debut for Manchester United
Published: December 17, 2023
Talented Spanish-born Nigerian attacker Victor Musa has made his U21s debut for Manchester United.
The first year scholar was given minutes off the bench as the Red Devils edged Newcastle United in a five-goal thriller in a Premier League 2 clash at Trafford Training Centre in Carrington on Saturday.
Musa was introduced with eighteen minutes to go, substituting Mateo Mejia for his first game for Manchester United in the Premier League 2 - a league for U21 players in England.
The 17-year-old has been regularly playing up in age-groups even before signing a scholarship deal with the Red Devils in the summer.
In his final season as a schoolboy, Musa appeared in nineteen matches in the U18 Premier League, scoring six goals, and also made his debut in the FA Youth Cup.
On the international stage, Musa has represented the youth team of his country of birth Spain, making his debut for the U16s in a 3-0 win over Republic of Ireland in November 2021.
The following month, he earned a call-up to England U16s national team and featured in two friendly matches against Turkey.
Musa is now eligible to sign his first professional contract with Manchester United, having celebrated his 17th birthday on September 5, 2023.
