Arsenal offer scholarship deal to Annous; box-to-box midfielder previously played at Chelsea, Tottenham
Published: January 04, 2024Premier League club Arsenal have started making decisions on their scholarship intake for the 2024-2025 season.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can report with certainty that the Gunners have made a decision on the future of Nigeria-eligible player Andre Annous as he has been offered a scholarship for next season.
The recently turned 16-year-old and his minders are currently reviewing the offer before deciding whether or not to put pen to paper on the new deal.
As per Premier League rules, all players in their U17 year are required to start the 2024-2025 season on a scholarship agreement, before they are permitted to sign a first professional football contract on or after their 17th birthday.
Annous has been described as a versatile player who mainly plays as a box-to-box midfielder and is also capable of playing as a winger and as a striker.
Arsenal pulled off a transfer coup to bring him to their Hale End Academy when he was aged eight, beating London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur to his signature.
He has been playing football since the age of five, and played at Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea before signing schoolboy terms at the Gunners.
Annous was a member of the Arsenal U17 team at the Flamengo Adidas Cup in Brazil and trained with the U18s several times in 2023.
