Lazio in negotiations with HB Koge over the transfer of Danish-Nigerian attacker
Published: January 04, 2024
Italian Serie A side Lazio have opened talks with HB Køge over a potential deal for Danish-Nigerian attacker Ifenna Dorgu.
Ifenna is the younger brother of Denmark U21 international of Nigerian descent Patrick Dorgu who is having a breakout season at US Lecce and is rumored to be on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation.
The younger Dorgu was promoted to HB Køge's first team in 2023, where he has scored four goals in 18 games this season.
Ifenna's performances for HB Køge have not gone unnoticed with Lazio working on a deal to sign the promising striker.
According to Danish sports magazine Tipsbladet, Lazio are in negotiations with HB Køge and there is talk of a loan deal with an option to buy, but the purchase option in particular has created some challenges.
The Danish First Division club are demanding more than what was offered by Lazio and a solution is being worked on.
In October, he was rewarded with a new deal at HB Køge after making the step up to the senior squad.
Last season, Dorgu was the top scorer in the U17 Division with 29 goals and was also the leading marksman in the division in 2021-2022.
