Ahlan Cup 2024: FWC FC underline credentials with comfortable win against The Kings FC

FWC FC of Abuja showcased their dominance with a resounding 3-1 victory over The Kings FC in their opening game of the Ahlan Cup 2024.


Goals from Timothy Daweng in the 10th minute was replied by Ikechi Chukwu of The Kings FC 21 minutes later to seal up the first half 1 - 1 apiece.  


However, on resumption of the 2nd half, FWC  FC's head coach, Bunmi Haruna rang some changes which paid off late in the game.


Ugwu Henry restored FWC FC's lead in the 75' and Oko Joseph 85' goal secured all three points in a 3 - 1 victory for the church team. 


Likeminds FC lost 0 - 1 to Setraco FC in the game played earlier in the day while Capital City drew 2 - 2 with Sports Supply FC and FOSLA FC lost 1 - 3 to NYSC FC in the games played a day before.

 

Ahlan Cup Tournament 2024 which began  on February 13th 2024, at the FIFA Goal Project Centre, Abuja, is an eight-team tournament meant to prepare Nationwide League One, NLO1 teams based in the FCT for the new season which will kick off in April.


FWC FC's next fixture is against Setraco FC on Friday, February 16th by 2 PM.


A win for FWC FC will guarantee them a semi-final place.
