Tottenham coach provides update on Nigeria-eligible fullback ahead of London derby
Published: March 01, 2024Tottenham Hotspur coach Ange Postecoglou faced the media on Friday to preview his side's Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Lilywhites have been handed a boost before the London derby with the return to training of Nigeria-eligible left-back Destiny Udogie.
Udogie was forced off injured in the closing minutes of Tottenham Hotspur's 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove on February 10 and wasn't available for selection for the next game with Woverhampton Wanderers.
There's a chance of the Italy international returning to action on Saturday provided he comes through the final training session unscathed.
The two-week break has allowed Udogie to work his way towards regaining fitness.
Providing a fitness update on his squad, Postecoglou told reporters: "Destiny has a chance, he's trained and we will just see how he pulls up."
Udogie's return will be a potential boost for Tottenham as they aim to close the gap on fourth placed Aston Villa and qualification for next season's Champions League.
This season, The Italian-Nigerian has started twenty-three matches from a possible 28 in all competitions and has five goal involvements to his name.
