'Playing the best football in the league' - Ex-Man City star Onuoha hails Arsenal after record-breaking win

Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha has hailed Arsenal following their recent winning run in the Premier League with Sheffield United being the latest they have put to the sword.

Mikel Arteta's side walloped the Blades 6-0 in front of their fans to become the first team in English Football League history to win three consecutive away games by at least five goals.

They are the most-inform team in the English top-tier division at the moment, winning their last even games, scoring 31 times, and conceding thrice to keep pressure on Manchester City and Liverpool.

Speaking to ESPN FC after Arsenal dispatched Sheffield United on Monday night, Onuoha reckoned that the North London side are playing the best football in the Premier League and in Europe.

"This is an Arsenal side playing the best football in the league, probably some of the best football around Europe at this moment in time.

"They have so much belief, they have so much quality and it is sort of playing into the opposition's weaknesses as well, so I think from being on the field when your team is really struggling like you want to have an impact maybe go and make a big tackle, maybe someone go and take the ball up the field but I think what Arsenal do well is that they never allow you the chance to do that.

"if you want to make a big tackle well too bad, they move the ball too quickly, if you make a tackle and you have got the ball, all of a sudden you have been swarmed on by two, three players and then so you think I can't risk it so you will get rid of it.

"Well, if you get rid of it, you are not going to see it again for 10 minutes.

"I think ultimately the way they set up at this moment in time is as good as any team we have seen so far this season and yeah sometimes you are hoping that they miss chances because for some of the games they have lost this year there has been a big criticism of the general play itself.

"I think it is great to see they are well so coached, they are well so drilled and they have got so much confidence in themselves and in each other that when you go and play against them, you know you are going to be in for a tough game, so when you don't have the same talent as them as I say you are hoping they miss chances because they don't give you anything at all."

Last season, Mikel Arteta's side came close to winning the Premier League  but eventually fell short, losing the title to Manchester City.

They currently sit in 3rd in the league standings, one point adrift of Manchester City and have two points lesser than league leaders Liverpool.

The Gunners will be hoping to lift trophy for the first time in 20 years come the end of the season.
