Italian agent reckons Manchester United will sign highly sought-after Super Eagles forward
Published: March 20, 2024
Italian agent Roberto De Fanti has reckoned that Manchester United would sign Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen.
The Red Devils are one of the clubs linked with the Napoli forward alongside fellow rivals Arsenal and Chelsea as well as PSG.
The interest stems from minority owner Jim Ratcliffe's desire to sign a new central forward to compete with Rasmus Hojlund and the Nigeria international sit atop of the shortlist.
It looks set to be a busy summer for the Red Devils as Ratcliffe is desperate to change the dwindling fortune of the club with the signing of quality players.
With Osimhen proving to be one of the best strikers in Europe, it is no surprise that he is one of the players being primed to revitalize Erik ten Hag's side.
De Fanti has given the club some backing, suggesting that they may sign the Nigeria international in the summer.
"The truth is that United, above all, are looking for a centre-forward," he told Teamtalk.
"Hojlund is doing reasonably well, but their new classic 'number nine' could be Osimhen."
The 25-year-old old has a huge release clause which is within €130m but it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will be able to cough out as much as that for his signature.
