Chukwueze transfer: Villarreal expect to receive N2.1b bonus payment from AC Milan but on one condition
Published: April 01, 2024
According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, AC Milan are set to pay Villarreal €1.5m (approximately N2.1 billion in Nigerian currency) as bonuses in fulfillment of the terms between both clubs when Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze joined the Rossoneri last summer.
However, the Yellow Submarine will only be entitled to the said amount if the electric winger is not sold by the seven-time European champions in the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old joined the Italian giants last July on a deal worth €20m plus €8m add ons but hasn't hit the ground running at the club.
He has started just eight games in the Serie A with former Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic who has had a blistering start to life at the San Siro, preferred over him.
The 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner netted his first goal in the Italian top flight last month during AC Milan's 3-1 win over Hellas Verona and followed that up with another good performance against Fiorentina last weekend which earned him praises from his manager Stefano Pioli and teammate, Alessandro Florenzi.
He will be hoping to continue with his recent stellar form and earn the full trust of his manager as the European season draws to a close.
