Patrick Dorgu: AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen interested in Lecce LB who dreams of moving to Chelsea
Published: April 18, 2024
Italian giants AC Milan and newly crowned Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are eyeing a move for Danish-Nigerian left-back Patrick Dorgu.
According to dailymilan, the Rossoneri have been watching the Lecce fullback closely in recent weeks and have been impressed with his performances.
The seven-time European champions are looking for a player to deputize for left-back Théo Hernandez and Dorgu appears to be their choice at the moment.
Stefano Pioli's side aren't the only side eyeing a move for the 19-year-old, with Bayer Leverkusen also credited with an interest in the gifted fullback.
The new German champions could lose first choice left-back Alejandro Grimaldo in the summer, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Bayern Munich all interested in his services and have reportedly been scouting Dorgu for a while.
Dorgu's valuation is between a modest €10m-€15m with his contract not expiring until the summer of 2027.
He has declared his commitment to Lecce but has also expressed his desire to play for Premier League giants Chelsea but it remains to be seen whether the Blues will make a move for him.
"My dream is of course the Premier League, but right now I am also in a really good place in my career. If it were to be somewhere in Italy, it wouldn’t be too bad either," Dorgu told bold.dk.
Then, on his dream club, he said, “Yes, it’s Chelsea”.
The former Nordsjælland defender has made 28 appearances across all competitions this term and has two goal involvements.
