Inter Milan join Arsenal and AC Milan in race to sign Bologna's Super Eagles-eligible striker
Published: April 25, 2024
Inter Milan have joined Arsenal and AC Milan in the race to race Super Eagles-eligible striker Joshua Zirkzee and are putting plans in place to beat the other suitors to his services.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Football Italia, the newly crowned Serie A champions intend to make a player plus cash offer to Bologna for the signature of the coveted striker.
The Nerazzurri want to offer Argentine midfielder Valentin Carboni in the deal so as to lower the price tag of the former Bayern Munich forward which is said to be above €50m.
According to the report, Inter Milan could also decide to cancel the buy-back clause inserted into Giovanni Fabbian's contract when he joined Bologna last summer, in a bid to reduce the valuation of Zirkzee.
The competition to sign the 22-year-old is getting intense at the moment with Arsenal and AC Milan also plotting how to win his signature.
The Gunners are reportedly ready to offer the Super Eagles eligible-striker a bumper salary and also hand him a five year contract if he decides to move to the Emirates.
With the Netherlands-born forward being in high demand, it is difficult to see Bologna retain him beyond this summer even if they qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
