Denmark coach reveals he has visited Obi-Martin at Arsenal ahead of 2024 U17 EURO

Denmark U17 national team coach Jesper Mikkelsen has revealed that he paid a visit to Chido Obi-Martin at Arsenal ahead of the forthcoming European U17 Championship.
The Danish-born Nigerian forward is in a rich vein of form ahead of the tournament in Cyprus, where the Danes will compete with Austria, Croatia and Wales in Group B.
Obi-Martin has found the net in eight consecutive matches in the U18 Premier League, taking his tally to a remarkable 29 goals in just seventeen appearances in the division this season.
The 16-year-old has broken Folarin Balogun's record for the most goals scored by an Arsenal player in the U18 Premier League in a single season.
Jesper Mikkelsen has extensive knowledge of Obi-Martin having observed him closely and has emphasized the striker's strengths.
"I've been over to visit him. We were in January, so I have been. Otherwise, I also get video every time they have played, so I am fairly up to date in relation to him," Mikkelsen told bold.dk.
He continued: "Chido has a lot of offensive qualities, and he has good timing in his deep runs when there is room in the back.
"We have worked a lot in the national team with him in relation to his running in the field when balls come in, because we want him to run in a certain way.
"Of course he still has something to work on, but he is physically far advanced, and in that way he can dominate his opponent because he is so physically strong.
"Although he is a tall and lanky player, don't mistake him because he also has good technique and is really good at controlling the ball and finishing.
"In fact, he is also a good dribbler. It was almost everything you need as a footballer, but he also has a nice package, says the national coach with a laugh."
Obi-Martin, who has scored ten goals in fourteen appearances for Denmark U17 national team, will be aiming to become the third player of Nigerian descent to win the Golden Boot at the U17 EURO, after Victor Moses (2007) and Dominic Solanke (2014).
