Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms Man Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle are battling to sign Tosin
Published: May 11, 2024
Transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano has named three Premier League clubs battling to sign Fulham central defender Tosin Adarabioyo.
Just as it was during the summer of 2023, Tosin's next destination is dominating the back pages in Nigeria and England.
The Manchester City academy graduate is certain to leave Craven Cottage at the end of the season after turning down a new deal that would have made him one of the highest paid players at Fulham.
Apart from the fact that Tosin has Premier League experience, clubs in the top-flight of English football are chasing him because he is a homegrown player who is nearing free-agent status.
Romano revealed that Newcastle United are working on a deal to sign the former England youth teamer and also mentioned Chelsea and Manchester United as possible destinations for the 26-year-old.
When questioned about Newcastle United's efforts in securing new signings for next season, Romano said on his Here We Go podcast on Thursday: "Yes, they are working hard for signings as we have already said on the podcast. Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth, top target, Newcastle are really confident to make it happen.
"So remember Kelly and Newcastle, the expectation is for the deal to advance really fast in the next weeks.
"And then they are still working on Tosin Adarabioyo. Chelsea also called for him, also Manchester United are informed of the situation but Newcastle in this case are really pushing.
"Eddie Howe appreciates the player and so Newcastle could sign two centre-backs on a free transfer. From what I'm hearing Kelly is really, really advanced and for Tosin Adarabioyo, negotiations are still ongoing."
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Tosin wants to join a club where he is guaranteed first team football and money will not play a role in his decision-making regarding his next destination.
