Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has thrown his weight behind Dominic Solanke, urging Gareth Southgate to include the in-form striker in England's Euro 2024 squad.
With the tournament in Germany just around the corner, national team bosses are busy selecting their provisional squads, and England's Gareth Southgate in particular has some tough decisions to make.
Iraola's endorsement of Solanke comes as no surprise, given the striker's impressive performances this season.
Solanke has been in phenomenal form and Iraola believes he has done enough to make a return to the England squad, more than six years after his first and only cap for the Three Lions.
"Solanke's selection to England's Euro squad? I don't know what more he can do. He is playing very well and he scored a great header today," Irola said in quotes relayed by Goal.
"But it's not just about the finishing, it's about everything else he gives to the team. I think he's very complete and I think he will be there."
However, Southgate faces a daunting task in selecting his squad, particularly in the striker position.
The likes of Ollie Watkins, Ivan Toney, and Harry Kane, who is almost certain to be in the squad, will provide stiff competition for Solanke.
Moreover, with the emergence of talented youngsters like Cole Palmer, Solanke's chances of making the cut appear slim.
Nevertheless, Iraola remains optimistic, citing Solanke's consistency and all-around ability as reasons why he deserves a spot in the squad.
For now, all Solanke can do is continue to give his best in Bournemouth's remaining two games of the season and hope that his performances will be enough to convince Southgate to include him in England's traveling squad for the Euros.
