Isaac Success: 2013 U17 AFCON top scorer suffers injury in Italy ahead of Finidi's squad announcement

With the exception of Ademola Lookman and Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, all the Super Eagles outfield players who play for Italian Serie A clubs are currently sidelined by injuries.

Udinese striker Isaac Siccess has joined Victor Osimhen (Napoli), Samuel Chukwueze (AC Milan) and Tyronne Ebuehi (Empoli) in the treatment room less than two weeks before new Nigeria boss Finidi George announces his roster for the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin. 

Less than ten minutes into between Udinese and Empoli on Sunday afternoon, manager Fabio Cannavaro had to substitute Success due to an injury, bringing in Brenner to replace the Nigeria national teamer.

Success will be evaluated in the coming days to determine the severity of his injury and availability for the Bianconeri's trip to Frosinone on the final day of the season on Sunday, May 26.

Success has not figured for the Super Eagles for more than five years, with his last appearance coming against Uganda in an international friendly in November 2018.

The 2013 U17 AFCON top scorer with seven goals has played in twenty-seven matches in the Italian top-flight this term and was on the score sheet once while registering an assist.

Udinese kept alive their hopes of Serie A survival thanks to Lazar Samardžić, who netted an equalizer in the 104th minute to cancel out M'Baye Niang's 90th minute goal.
