Atalanta to demand more than N48b for Lookman amid Barcelona, West Ham, Juventus interest
Published: May 25, 2024
Ademola Lookman definitely put himself in the shop window after his historic performance during Atalanta's 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday, May 22.
The Nigeria national teamer became the first player to score a hat-trick in a European final since the German Jupp Heynckes celebrated a hat-trick for Borussia Moenchengladbach in the 1974-1975 edition of the UEFA Cup against Dutch team Twente.
Deco, sporting director of FC Barcelona, and Bojan Krkic, in charge of the club's youth team, were dazzled by the performance of the Atalanta forward, and it has been suggested that the La Liga giants, who are in the market for a versatile winger, could make a move for the Nigerian in the summer.
It was reported on Friday that new West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui and technical director Tim Steidten are interested in signing Lookman as they look to bolster their forward options.
According to Tutto Juve, apart from the Premier League clubs interested in Lookman, Juventus are monitoring his situation but are not yet ready to be involved in a bidding war for the Charlton Athletic academy product.
As per the report, Atalanta could be willing to listen to offers exceeding 30 million euros (approximately N48 billion in Nigerian currency) for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations star.
Lookman has two more years left on his contract with Atalanta, whom he joined from RB Leipzig in summer 2022.
The 26-year-old has made seventy-six all-competition appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring 30 goals and adding 16 assists.
