Winger eligible for Super Eagles, La Roja, Nzalang Nacional signs new deal with Eintracht Frankfurt
Published: June 06, 2024
With a statement on their official website, German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt have announced that tri-national winger Junior Awusi Boddien has signed a new deal with the club.
Boddien has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with Eintracht Frankfurt, a deal that will keep him at the Eagles until June 30, 2026, with the contract also including an option for a further year.
Born in Madrid to a mother from Equatorial Guinea and Nigerian father eighteen years ago, Boddien is eligible to represent the Super Eagles, La Roja and Nzalang Nacional at international level.
He was called up to a Spain U17 training camp in late 2022 but did not make an appearance for the Spaniards.
The versatile offensive player joined Eintracht's youth performance center at the age of eleven and has progressed through all the youth teams up to the A-Juniors.
Last season, Boddien made 13 appearances in the U19 Bundesliga South/Southwest due to injury, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
He missed eight matches due to a torn lateral knee ligament, three matches due to a broken foot and the last two matches of the campaign due to a red card suspension
Boddien featured in five matches in the 2022-2023 UEFA Youth League and was on target against Marseille in October 2022.
He represented the youth teams of Racing Parla CD and 1.Rödelheimer FC prior to his move to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2017.
