Promising winger Tyrique George signs new three-year deal with Chelsea
Published: June 15, 2024Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that talented London-born Nigerian winger Tyrique George has committed his future to Chelsea after putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Premier League giants.
On Friday, George signed a fresh three-year contract to remain at Chelsea until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
The Blues moved quickly to tie him down to a new contract, roughly twelve months to the end of the previous agreement between club and player.
The Cobham product has been identified as a potential first team player by those upstairs at Chelsea, as he was invited to train with the first team on multiple occasions last season.
George was named in the matchday 20 for Premier League matches against Everton, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur but was not utilized off the bench by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
He was one of the leading goalscorers for Chelsea youth teams in the past season, mustering 20 goals in all competitions, comprising nine in the U18 Premier League, two in the FA Youth Cup, one each in the Premier League International Cup and U18 Premier League Cup, three in the Premier League 2 and four in the U21 Premier League Cup.
The exciting forward has carved out a reputation for scoring spectacular goals, with five of his strikes last season nominated for the Goal of the Month.
On the international stage, George made his debut for England U18s against France in September 2023 and went on to feature in five more matches last term.
