Golden Eaglets-eligible central defender agrees two new deals with Chelsea
Published: June 15, 2024
Promising Golden Eaglets-eligible central defender Tayo Subuloye has agreed two new deals with Premier League giants Chelsea, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Subuloye is set to sign scholarship forms with the Blues ahead of the start of the 2024-2025 campaign.
Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano added that the Anglo-Nigerian defender will sign his first professional contract as soon as he turns seventeen.
Subuloye has opted to extend his stay at Chelsea despite enticing offers from several Premier League clubs.
He appeared in four matches in the U18 Premier League during the 2023-2024 campaign, starting in three of them, whilst still a schoolboy.
Subuloye , captain of Chelsea's U16 squad last season, has garnered attention for his exceptional performances within the club's youth ranks.
His achievements include leading Chelsea to victory in the U17 Premier League Cup and contributing significantly to the U18 team's success.
He captained Chelsea to victory at the U16 Premier League National Championships in October 2023 and was promoted to first team training in February 2024.
The two new deals underscore Chelsea's commitment to securing Subuloye's services for the long term, aiming to ward off competition from other elite clubs vying for the young talent.
