Transfer expert highlights hurdle facing Man United, Chelsea in Olise's pursuit
Published: June 18, 2024
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs has revealed the hurdle facing Manchester United and Chelsea in the pursuit of 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise.
Olise is one of the hottest properties in European football at the moment following his brilliant performances for Crystal Palace in the past two seasons in the Premier League.
This explains the reason behind him being courted by Manchester United and Chelsea as well as Manchester City, Newcastle and Bayern Munich.
However, there is a complication surrounding the signing of the French-Nigerian forward who has a release clause of £60m, which has now been revealed by Jacobs.
Writing in his column for Simon Phillips Talks Chelsea on Substack via CaughtOffside, the transfer expert revealed that should Olise make a move this summer, Crystal Palace will owe him a percentage of his release clause.
He reckoned that this could be a stumbling block for the Red Devils and the Blues in their pursuit of the French youth international who is considered as a priority target for both teams.
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will go through the hurdle to land the Crystal Palace forward or abandon their pursuit for other targets with Jacobs revealing in a separate report that Crysencio Summerville may be the alternative to Olise.
