Summer transfer still on the cards for Club Brugge's Super Eagles midfielder Onyedika
Published: June 24, 2024Raphael Onyedika's possible departure from Belgian champions Club Brugge before the close of the summer transfer window is still on the cards.
The Nigeria international has been linked with possible moves to Premier League, La Liga and Turkish Super Lig clubs.
According to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, via voetbal24.be, Club Brugge will soon say goodbye to at least two key first team-players, including Onyedika and Andreas Skov Olsen.
Club Brugge expect to earn a descent fee from the sale of the central midfielder on the back of his outstanding performances in the Jupiler Pro League playoffs, UEFA Conference League and with the Nigeria national team during the 2023-2024 season.
The FC Ebedei product scored three goals in nine outings in the playoffs and was on target in Nigeria's 2-1 loss to Republic of Benin's Cheetahs on matchday four of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Onyedika has yet to resume training at Club Brugge ahead of the upcoming season due to his international commitments with the Super Eagles in June and is expected to join his teammates in preparations early next month.
The 23-year-old still has three years to run on his contract with Club Brugge and is valued in the region of 20 million pounds.
Onyedika was scouted by Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman in April, while Barcelona and Galatasaray are reportedly monitoring his situation.
