Dual national Super Eagles RB Osayi-Samuel reacts to Bellingham's stunner in England win v Slovakia
Published: June 30, 2024
Dual-national Super Eagles right back Bright Osayi-Samuel has reacted to Jude Bellingham's stunning goal for England in their 2-1 win over Slovakia in the round of 16 of the 2024 European Championship played on Sunday evening.
Slovakia took the world by storm when Ivan Schranz gave them the lead in the 25th minute taking advantage of the Three Lions' bad defensive shape to slot the ball past Jordan Pickford.
England thought they had restored parity in the 50th minute when Manchester City forward Phil Foden turned the ball home from Kieran Trippier's cross but the goal was ruled out by the VAR for offside.
They would eventually get the equalizer few seconds to the end of the game, with Bellingham scoring with an overhead kick after Marc Guehi headed the ball towards him from Kyle Walker's throw-in.
Immediately after the Real Madrid star got the equalizer, Osayi-Samuel took to social media to react to the wonderful goal.
He wrote on his X account: "Clutch"
Harry Kane got the winner in the 91st minute, courtesy of substitute Ivan Toney's assist to send the one-time World champions to the quarter-finals.
It wasn't the first that Bellingham will be delivering the goods as he did so for Real Madrid in the last campaign, scoring nine game-winning goals.
He also scored England's only goal in their win over Serbia in the first matchday of the European Championship and has now netted two goals in the competition.
