Through a press release, Nigerian Premier Football League champions Rangers have announced that they have succeeded in getting the signature of teenage kid dynamite, Chimobi Igwilo, who has been a terror to defenders while featuring for the youth team of the Enugu-based club.
The player signed a three-year contract for the league champions and would be expected to challenge for a place in coach Fidelis Ilechukwu's squad being built to successfully defend the trophy and go far in the CAF Champions League in the 2024-2025 season.
The young talent says it feels like a dream come true to join Rangers International F.C., a club he has long admired.
Igwilo is grateful for the opportunity and is committed to giving his all to help the team succeed.
G.M/CEO of Rangers, Amobi Ezeaku Esq., shared his enthusiasm after the contract signing ceremony, highlighting Igwilo's exceptional talent and the management's delight in having him on board to display his skills in the upcoming season.
Rangers were crowned NPFL champions last month after accumulating 70 points from 38 games in the division, scoring 56 goals while conceding 33.
After their final game of the season at Gombe United, the 1977 African Cup Winners Cup winners were handed a cheque of N150 million by Nigeria Football Federation president Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
