Napoli and agent working to avoid Osimhen report for pre-season training, Anellucci reveals

As the preseason activities loom, Napoli and the agent of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen are reportedly making efforts to resolve the player's future.
The Italian club, gearing up for a new season under the leadership of new manager Antonio Conte, seeks clarity after a disappointing 2023/2024 campaign that saw them miss out on European competition.
Claudio Anellucci, a FIFA agent, revealed that efforts are underway to ensure Osimhen's situation is sorted before the team's retreat on July 11. This retreat serves as a crucial bonding and planning period for players and coaches.
Anellucci mentioned that Conte aims to start the pre-season with players fully focused on the upcoming season's goals and the presence of Osimhen, amidst uncertainty about his future, could be a distraction to the team.
"On the 11th, Napoli goes into camp and, consequently, the coach will want to have a minimum of linearity, a base from which to start again. Having Osimhen there for only a few days would not be profitable for anyone," Anellucci said on 1 Station Radio, via Napoli Magazine.
"The Nigerian's call to the pre-season camp is mandatory, but it is also ritual. Both the club and the player's entourage are working to avoid the inconveniences related to the presence of the attacker at the camp.
To expedite this resolution, Osimhen's agent is currently in Paris. While it's unclear if Osimhen himself is present, the agent's presence suggests a desire to quickly finalize the situation.
Anellucci shared, "I knew something. I don't know if he was physically in Paris, but I knew about the movements of his entourage.
"Knowing how PSG moves, if the player was called to the city, it means they want to close the situation quickly."
Osimhen has been linked with several top clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG. However, the striker's €130 million release clause has been a significant hurdle in negotiations.
As Napoli prepare for a fresh start under Conte, the resolution of Osimhen's future remains a pivotal issue.
The club hopes to enter the new season with a clear direction and a focused squad.
