Leicester City more or less confirm Ndidi will sign a new contract
Published: July 09, 2024English Premier League new boys Leicester City have more or less confirmed that Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi will commit his future to the Foxes by putting pen to paper on a new contract.
The Foxes revealed last month that they were in talks with the central midfielder regarding his future beyond the expiration of his current contract on June 30, 2024.
If the updated squad list published on the club's official website is anything to go by, Leicester City are confident that the Super Eagles star will sign a new deal as his name is among the first team players
Marc Albrighton, Kelechi Iheanacho and Dennis Praet, who were all released at the end of last season, are not listed in the first team squad on the club's official website following the expiration of their contracts.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported with certainty twelve days ago that Ndidi has agreed to extend his contract with Leicester City, and an official confirmation of a contract extension is expected in the coming days.
Reports linking him with potential moves to Everton, Marseille and Turkish Super Lig teams have died down since news of his imminent contract extension was broken by this website.
Last season, Ndidi flourished under manager Enzo Maresca playing in a more advanced midfield role, registering nine goal involvements in 32 Championship matches as Leicester secured an immediate return to the Premier League.
The central defender-turned-midfielder has tons of Premier League experience, with 192 matches under his belt.
