Enyimba, Abia Warriors, Wikki Tourists risk being banned from registering new players
Published: July 18, 2024Award winning FIFA licensed Football Agent, Mr. Eddie Iseri Ogbemudia has again secured favourable judgments for his clients whose contracts were unlawfully terminated by Enyimba FC, Abia Warriors FC and Wikki Tourist FC.
In a decision issued by the Nigeria Football Federation Players Status and Arbitration Committee dated July 12th 2024, the clubs have been given 45 days ultimatum by the committee to pay their former players whose claims were adjudicated, or risk being banned from registering new players or transferring old players.
An elated Ogbemudia said it's a new dawn for Nigerian Football League Players and commended the current leadership of the NFF led by Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, and also the Chairman and members of this noble committee of the NFF Players' Status and Arbitration.
"As you are aware sometimes in May 2024, a similar decision was issued against Elkanemi Warriors FC and Lobi Stars FC, who have failed to make the due payments to the players concerned.
"But I can tell you with information available to me and the meeting held between the NFF Players Status & Arbitration Committee and all the various Football League organizers, the two clubs will not be able to register new players for the NPFL 2024/2025 season kicking off August 31st 2024 unless they clear their debts, because the ban has already taken effect due to their failure to meet the payment obligations to the creditors which expired since July 8 2024."
"This again is another milestone, we hope these clubs will not want to go the direction of El-kanemi Warriors and Lobi Stars, and wait till the the ban is implemented before doing the right thing, we hope for the best." Ogbemudia concluded.
