Osimhen could consider move to Saudi Arabia as Napoli want Chelsea striker to replace him
Published: July 23, 2024
Fabrizio Romano believes Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could consider moving to the Saudi Pro-League amid uncertainty regarding his future.
This follows an update from the Italian transfer market expert where he stated that Paris Saint-Germain are not ready to meet the conditions set down by Napoli to grab his signature which has reduced the possibility of him joining the French champions.
Napoli will be hoping to sort out the future of Osimhen very soon as they have already lined up a replacement for him in Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium national teamer has been declared surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and has reportedly agreed to take a pay cut to facilitate a potential move to Napoli, where he would be reunited with manager Antonio Conte, whom he worked with at Inter Milan.
Lukaku was unsurprisingly left out of Chelsea's tour squad to the United States, which suggests a departure from the Londoners before the close of the transfer window is likely.
Paris Saint-Germain are the only European club to have shown genuine interest in Osimhen with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal not ready to enter negotiations with Napoli due to his huge release clause.
With PSG adamant of getting a deal done only on their terms, Osimhen is now left with the option of moving to the Saudi Pro-League as he has made up his mind to leave Napoli this summer.
The 25-year-old's initial choice was to join a Premier League side before being open to joining PSG and hasn't considered moving to the Saudi Pro-League.
However, Romano has suggested that the Nigeria international could now change his decision about moving to the Gulf country with Al-Ittihad or Al-Hilal both credited with an interest.
