2024 USA Tour: Chukwueze named in AC Milan squad to face Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona
Published: July 26, 2024
Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze has been named in AC Milan's squad for the pre-season tour to the United States.
The Rossoneri announced the 29-man squad for the preseason tournament on their social media account. According to the post on X, the Nigerian winger is joined alongside several first-team and young players.
Chukwueze starred for Nigeria during the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup for Nigeria. After his impressive display at the tournament, Chukwueze secured a move to Villarreal where he shone in the Spanish La Liga.
He joined AC Milan in the summer of 2023 but struggled in his first season with the Italian club, managing to notch one goal and three assists in 24 Serie A games.
After a difficult first campaign, Chukwueze will hope to impress new manager Paulo Fonseca during the pre-season tour before the start of the campaign where he will face competition from Portuguese winger Rafael Laoa, Christian Pulisic, and other forward players.
AC Milan face a challenging schedule in the USA, with matches against Premier League champions Manchester City, La Liga and Champions League winners Real Madrid, and Spanish giants Barcelona.
