Manchester City academy product Kelechi Iheanacho has ended his ten-year stint in England by moving from Leicester City to join Spanish side Sevilla for a fresh challenge.
Iheanacho made a splash at the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, scoring six goals to win the Golden Ball award.
After the tournament, it seemed every top club wanted a piece of Iheanahco with more than a dozen European teams interested in signing the versatile attacking midfielder but he opted to join Manchester City.
He spent three years at Manchester City, winning the League Cup in 2015-2016 following his promotion to the first team, before joining Leicester City where he spent seven years.
Iheanacho played a key role as the Foxes won the Emirates FA Cup in May 2021 and the Community Shield three months later, and was in the side that secured promotion to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
According to Spanish sports daily AS, the Super Eagles star will land in Seville on Tuesday to formalize his transfer to the Andalusian club and will put pen to paper on a two-year deal with a club option for the 2026-2027 season, subject to a traditional medical.
The 27-year-old is set to become the second Nigeria international to join Sevilla on a free transfer in the ongoing transfer window, emulating ex-Antwerp winger Chidera Ejuke.
Iheanacho registered 123 goal involvements (82 goals, 41 assists) in 296 matches during his stint in England.
